Independence Youth Cheerleading

Our program is made up of children in grades Pre-K through 6th grade. We cheer for Independence Youth Football and our season goes from August until October. This program is for Independence residents only.

Independence Youth Cheerleading is dedicated to encouraging our athletes to be leaders in our community both on and off the field. We will provide our cheerleaders with a fun, safe, and inspiring experience that will help them grow individually and as a team.

Teams are organized by grade:

Pre-K/K (Mini Squad)

1st - 2nd grade (White Squad)

3rd - 4th grade (Blue Squad)

5th - 6th grade (Gold Squad)

Please note that game schedules are tentative and subject to change prior to the beginning of the season in August.

Independence Youth Cheer Costs and Schedules 2024

Mini Squad (Pink) - Pre-K/K. Must be 4 years old prior to September 1st.

  • Cost:

    • $75 Registration Fee (includes t-shirt, sweatshirt, bow, & poms)

  • Practices:

    • *New for the 2024 season - Squad will practice a few times in August.

  • Games:

    • This squad will likely have 6 game days on Saturday mornings in Independence. Time and location TBD.

 

White Squad - 1st & 2nd Grade

  • Cost:

    • $100 Registration Fee (includes t-shirt, sweatshirt, bow, & poms)

  • Practices:

    • Aug – Practices will vary.

    • Sept – Tues 5:00-6:15pm @ The Old Rec *New for the 2024 season

  • Games:

    • This squad will likely have games on Wednesdays in Independence. Time and location TBD.

 

Blue Squad - 3rd & 4th Grade

  • Cost:

    • $200 Registration Fee (includes t-shirt, sweatshirt, bow, shell, skirt, liner, brief, shoes & poms)

    • *New for the 2024 season. Indy youth cheer will be purchasing all uniform pieces. We will be collecting shells, skirts, and liners at the end of the season and re-using them each year.

  • Practices:

    • Aug – Practices will vary.

    • Sept/Oct/Nov – Tues & Weds 6:30-8:00pm @ The Old Rec

  • Games:

    • 7 games (and possible playoffs) as part of the Lake Erie Youth Football League.

    • Games are usually on Saturday any time between 9am-1pm. Expect 1-2 home games and the rest away. Games will likely begin in Aug.

    • We may also cheer at some Independence Rec Flag games on Tues/Thurs nights.

·         Competition: **New for the 2024 season - This squad will attend 2 or 3 Cheer Competitions this year.

 

Gold Squad - 5th & 6th Grade

  • Cost:

    • $200 Registration Fee (includes t-shirt, sweatshirt, bow, shell, skirt, liner, brief, shoes & poms)

    • *New for the 2024 season. Indy youth cheer will be purchasing all uniform pieces. We will be collecting shells, skirts, and liners at the end of the season and re-using them each year.

  • Practices:

    • Aug – Practices will vary.

    • Sept/Oct/Nov – Tues & Weds 6:30-8:00pm @ The Old Rec

  • Games:

    • 7 games (including playoffs) as part of the Chagrin Valley Conference Youth Football League.

    • Games will be on Saturdays or Sundays anytime between 9am-1pm. Games were played on Sundays last year due to a ref shortage. Expect 1-2 home games and the rest will be away. Games will likely begin in Sept.

    • We may also cheer at some Independence Rec Flag games on Tues/Thurs nights.
