2023 PADDED FLAG: 3RD/4TH GRADE

Padded Flag is the perfect way to prepare kids for tackle football in 5th grade. This is a “Limited-Contact” bridge game between Flag and Rookie Tackle that introduces kids to wearing pads, higher cognitive game play and light to moderate contact. Also, many parents feel it’s safer having their kids wear full pads to play flag as they are getting a little older, bigger, faster and stronger.

  • Cost: $175 + $55 jersey fee (if needed). Registration fee includes helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey and pants. The game jerseys can be used for multiple years and are yours to keep. Players that bought their own equipment last year will receive a $25 equipment discount.

Jr. Blue Devils

Our travel Padded Flag program takes the Jr. Blue Devil journey to the next level. Our kids enjoy wearing the blue and gold and playing kids from other cities. Game days are a lot of fun not just for the kids but coaches, parents and siblings and is well worth the drive to Avon or Rocky River.

We are confident that the padded flag is a superior choice for preparing our kids for Rookie Tackle starting in 5th grade. This “limited-contact” version of youth football gets kids used to wearing pads as well as some contact and most importantly keeps them safe with wearing helmets.

First down Blue Devils!

We have found the Padded Flag experience really starts to create and strengthen friendships and age appropriate toughness. The kids enjoy the minimal contact, playing in the pads and representing Independence together. This level of play gets them ready to be successful later on in their football journey.
